The George and Annie Starck Homes is a registered welfare organisation in Bellville, Cape Town, founded in 1967 from the wish of its benefactor George Henry Starck. Its campus centres on the manor house Oosterzee, the Starck family's former home on the slopes of Tygerberg, and offers three levels of living on one site: a retirement village, assisted living, and frail care and dementia units. The retirement village has 70 one- and two-bedroom units sold on a life-right basis. Each unit pays a monthly levy that covers, among other things, building insurance, garden and exterior maintenance, water and sewerage, clinic services, security, a nursing and emergency support fee, and use of the communal facilities, including a swimming pool, library and chapel. When a unit is sold on, the life-right scheme keeps part of the sale price: 5% within the first year, 10% within the second, 15% within the third, rising to 20% in the fourth year. A 4% sales commission also applies, and the balance is paid into the resident's bank account or estate. Assisted living offers daily meals, housekeeping and laundry, medication administration and personal care support in single and double rooms with emergency call buttons, and short-term stays for recovery or rehabilitation. A higher tier, Assisted Living Excellence, adds 24-hour monitoring by professional nursing staff. The frail care and dementia units provide 24-hour care by qualified nurses, individual care plans, and dementia support with structured routines and safe enclosed areas. Applicants are assessed before admission, and waiting lists may apply for dementia beds.

Includes 3 meals a day, morning and afternoon tea or coffee, cleaning of the room, laundry, access to communal facilities and nursing care. Excludes separate medical costs and personal incidentals.
