Retire@Midstream is a retirement village inside Midstream Estates, between Centurion and Sandton. According to the home's website, it offers full title houses and sectional title units for sale or to rent; life rights and leasehold do not apply, the resident must be 50 or older, and a unit can have up to two permanent residents. The final phase, Extension 55, of two bedroom sectional title units was under construction when the page was written (the page is undated); check with the sales agents for current availability. Every sectional title unit has an alarm system, panic button and smoke detector, and the monthly levy includes a garden service, structural insurance, a 24 hour paramedic emergency service and a minibus service. Village facilities include a community hall and theatre with 200 seats, a staffed library, a hair salon, a restaurant that delivers meals to homes, and a clubhouse and pool area in Extension 55. Medical care is not included in the levy and is billed according to individual use. The wider Midstream Estate has a medical centre with a general practitioner practice, dentists and physiotherapists, a pharmacy, and a 50 bed sub-acute facility called Care at Midstream, which is within the estate boundaries. Care in Midstream is described as offering levels of care from home care to frail care and assisted living, including dementia care. These are estate services; the site does not say the village itself runs them.
